The wait for the Surface Go is finally over! Microsoft has launched its latest laptop, with the company aiming to make it appeal to people who are always on the go and also for students. The timing of the release is also interesting as students just start to resume.

A larger bezel and also rounder edges makes a noticeable difference in the design of the Surface Go and that of the Surface Pro, but the overall design is still as sleek and neat as the latter. Spec-wise, Microsoft Surface Go is light and portable, weighing merely 1.15 pounds and 8.3mm thick. 

The screen is 10-inch PixelSense display which works perfectly with the surface pen allowing 4096 levels of pressure. For speed, the device runs on a 7th Generation Intel Pentium Gold processor. This processor allows users to run daily activities really fast, without lagging. The device has 4GB or 8GB variant, and it has a strong battery that lasts for up to 9 hours, which can be charged with the innovative USB type-C 3.1 port.

The software details reveals that the tablet runs on Windows 10 in S mode, which means that you can only use the apps that are available on the Microsoft store. Using the full Windows experience is also available, but it might cause your device to have some performance issues.

Pricing

As for the price, Surface Go costs about $399, which makes it the least expensive Microsoft Surface device. The price also heats up the competition with Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy book. The Wi-Fi enabled devices will be sold first while the LTE models will follow later.



Extra cost includes the Surface pen at $99, Go Signature Type Cover Keyboard at $99-$129. Customers from US, Canada, France, Austria, Germany and other European countries can make preorders starting from the 10th of July.
