YENAGOA — His Royal Highness Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, the Amadabo of Moko-Ama in the Akassa Kingdom of Bayelsa State, has reportedly died at the age of 64 following complications from a liposuction procedure.

The traditional ruler of Moko-Ama in Sangana, Brass Local Government Area, was said to have passed away in the days leading up to October 8 and 9, 2026, when tributes began circulating widely on social media. Mourners described him as a peacemaker who worked for unity and development in the Niger Delta.

Kenibara VII was crowned Amadabo of Moko-Ama in 2016, a role he reportedly viewed as a divine calling. He later served as Chairman of the Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs, succeeding Chief Newton Igbani-Okuru, and as Chairman of the Central Zone of the Ijaw National Congress (INC).

According to reports from TheNewsGuru and Legit.ng, the monarch was remembered for advocating peace among royal houses, supporting community development, and encouraging youth to pursue lawful livelihoods. No official statement from the palace or family confirming the exact circumstances of his death or burial arrangements had been issued as of Sunday afternoon.

The reported death has been widely covered by Nigerian media outlets, including The Trumpet and Instablog9ja, which first highlighted the news based on social media tributes. Details surrounding the medical procedure and its complications remain unconfirmed by independent medical authorities.
